Virginia Beach Boiler Installation
Premier Services Done with Utmost Professionalism
American Mechanical installs all models and brands of HVAC equipment. Boilers and radiators are not usually installed on new construction. Many older residences do have these types of systems and many of the older apartment buildings and office buildings still have the system, as this type of system works well in those situations. The benefits of a steam or hot-water systems are not usually discussed.
However, they do have fewer moving parts, making them more reliable and durable if maintained properly, and they are not as complicated as the newer forced air heating systems. They provide a clean, dust-free form of heat, which is a huge plus for homeowners who react negatively to the dust or other allergens that can be stirred up by forced air and other modern heating systems.

How Do Boiler Systems Work?
The steam heating system is made up of a water boiler, a burner, the pipes, and radiators, and/or convectors. The boiler heats the water, which turns it into steam. The steam travels through the pipes to the radiators and/or convectors into each room to be heated.
As the energy spreads throughout the room, the steam cools and condenses back into water. The water is returned to the boiler to be heated, and the process is repeated.
Which Type Is Right for My Space?
The burner can heat the boiler in a couple of different ways such as oil, natural gas or electricity. Each have their own perks and setbacks, but our experts can help you select the right one for your property.
Electrically heated boilers: are generally more expensive to operate than gas-heated or oil-heated boilers. They are also easier to maintain and don’t do quite as much damage as the other two when they break down. They are usually found in larger buildings (offices and commercial properties).
Gas-heated or oil-heated boilers are usually found in smaller, older apartment buildings or multi-family houses. Radiators are heat-transferring devices where the pipes that transfer steam are exposed, while convectors are heating devices in which the pipes are partially shielded. Convectors are safer to touch, since they tend to be cooler than radiators. Both types still warrant caution while in operation.
